Locklear Named Assistant Principal of Jefferson Elementary beginning with the 2023-2024 School Year

Ms. Locklear is a 23-year veteran teacher with Chesterfield County School District. She has taught Spanish at both Cheraw and Chesterfield High Schools. She is the World Language District Representative to the Olde English Consortium where she has served as committee chair and presented at several conferences. Ms. Locklear has championed the implementation of the SC Seal of Biliteracy in the District that has seen substantial growth in participation and students receiving national accreditation. She is also a participant in the District's Aspiring Principals' Program.
Ms. Locklear earned a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish from Wingate University. She earned her teaching certification through the SC PACE program, followed by a Masters in Instructional Accommodations from Francis Marion University. Ms. Locklear also earned licensure in Educational Leadership from Wingate University.
Ms. Locklear currently resides in Chesterfield, SC with her family and is a member of Thompson Creek Baptist Church where she has served as VBS leader, Youth leader and is currently the church secretary.
