hello boys and girls and families of Jefferson Elementary my name is Miss paying for those of you who may not know me and I am officially the author of this book Supergirl so today we're going to do a read-aloud so that you can hear this awesome book Supergirl as Ali was the night before Emily's first day of second grade and she could not figure out what to wear what about your prokick suggested her mom and everyone we are wings now sit as a lie don't make fun of me if I wear those old shoes honey you know we can't afford are wings said her mom these will have to do then do your hair now I really wasn't convinced I know her mom was doing her best they don't make fun of my hair too it's not pretty like the other girls hair and I'm so much smaller than them mom I don't want to go to school tomorrow or as the way she's a little down baby girl every person is unique said her mom you're sad and your hair or what make you my fearfully and wonderfully made but girl you shouldn't compare yourself to others because we are all special in our own unique way come on now it's time for bed I'll cook you in that night she stared at the dark field ugly thought about what her mom said she felt more excited for her first day of school who helped her out the next morning hopefully a rabbit school and met up with her friends Jocelyn Troy and Henry call Henry ready for second grade at Troy High guys sit as a lie ready see you guys in class as they walked to their new classrooms and pulled as early as bad you're my best friend as early and I want you to do something for me acts as a I want my cool smart and pretty friend to have a great first day I want you to do something for me too but I want you to always be my friend Jocelyn smile and pulled out a handful of gummy bears you always be my Gummy Bear the girls laugh and snack on their candy as they made their way to class a few days passed and as Ali was excited for her first assignment the all about me though she had gathered her favorite items over the last few days for her turn to share when she was going on she marched to the front of the class and spoke proudly about her favorite things but when she walked back to her seat some of the kids Giggle and pointed at her shoes as Elise face hot and her eyes filled with tears I wonder what happened want you to think about that at recess things only got worse every you have weird hair on kid I want you wearing shoes like all of us X another boy Abilene you're smaller than a first grader Ashley just looked down at the ground as the kids laughed and laughed before they took off don't listen to them as Ali said they're just jealous because they know you're smart and yeah Henrich and then they're just mad because you got swag no matter what bad stuff people say to you just know you are pretty and better than you here Joseline tried to shake it off as they headed to the swing but she was still shaken by the bullies at least not feeling too well guys that's a big deal whenever we got home she ran right past grandma arlena and Aunt May and went directly to her room she buried her head in her pillow and cried before grandma arlena and the adley's room and asked what was wrong when she finished her back baby girl you are a bland huh you are bland because everyone around you can see how special you are except you your precious friends love you for you they aren't your friends because you are rich she pointed to as Elise heart they love you for you because they know what's inside so she's telling her that as a lie cares about people and that's what makes her so special and people want to be around her he has Elite yes darling said I may you may not be rich with money but you are rich in something even better I know it's only repeat it yes baby doll you are rich in love Ashley's mother appeared in the doorway she began not have a lot like others but we have to be great in all you do but for that to happen you can't look at when you do not have or how you do not look instead look at how your family's love for you has made you a caring person this causes others to want to be around you you have become rich in love and you are sharing the wealth sweet girl we see a kind-hearted smart going Supergirl as relieved as she was pulled into a group of the next morning and Polly went to school much happier than before when she gave her handmade card it really hurt us yesterday when we saw you say it said Henry would like to see you smile homegirl before she could say anything the bell rang and she raced to her classroom she picked up the card inside her hi BFF you are very special to me as the Lee you are pretty smart and my gummy bear. Listen to the bad things but the good things love Jocelyn hey I believe you are a good free you care about your friends and we care about you you are special don't forget that Troy my homegirl as Ali is a special person 07 is a good friend like to see you smile is siding extra smart from Henry Eveleigh cannot stop smiling the rest of the morning after reading the card doing lunch I found another have a great day remember you are smart you are pretty and you are the unique azulene who is fearfully and wonderfully made my Supergirl love mommy and her friends went to resend them to pick on her like the day before Henry open his mouth to fend them off but as Elite stop him wonder what is about to happen Emily looked at the boys straight in the eye and loudly Proclaim my name is as Ali I am pretty I am Mark and I am fearfully and wonderfully made if you want to hang with me and my friend then your words have to change then she smiled and walked away to the chant of her friend we can see that she is special just like me from that day on azalee remember why she was rich in a unique way she was stupid girl Everly boys and girls I hope that you enjoy this book and I want you to always remember that you are special and you are fearfully and wonderfully made have a great day
